It is what Brian Wilson wanted to do before the "formula hounds" took over. This may just be the greatest LP ever recorded !

Going to try some more cleaning with the label savers at some point The tunes are such that you can't get them out of your head.

Please choose a different delivery location. Sgt. Nice to see Dr Eugene Landy gets a credit as ‘executive consultant of CD remastering’.

It is a shame that Sony, Mike Love, and Brian Wilson's handlers were so opposed to the new sound.

Recommended.

Pet Sounds (Complete Album in Stereo & Mono) Wonderful work by Brian Wilson.

They just wanted to keep doing the same old formula.

To modern ears, this may sound muddy and require an adjustment in your expectations, but as you'll discover if you go down the rabbit hole of mono vs. stereo, mono is Brian Wilson's original vision of the album. This release has both Stereo and Mono versions so I had to have it.

We blame marketing strategy! Yes, it’s a shame about the bare bones packaging, but for the price, you will be satisfied.

A very controversial song when it was first released.

Pet Sounds is an album of magnificent, instant pleasures: rhapsodic falsettos, deep melodies elated by strings and brass, blips of bike horns and barking dogs. I have to tell you, this is one of the best reissues I've heard in recent years.Ridiculously Poor Quality Screening (three strikes, you're out) What's That Sound?

Really unhappy with this pressing.

I have always been a fan of the Beach Boys...saw them 3 times in 60s, then when they recorded Fun,Fun,Fun, with Status Quo in 90s and finally at Hyde Park in 2001 again with SQ.....But when my daughter gave me the Platinum Collection as a xmas present couple of years back...it whetted my appetite again....I started with Dennis Wilson POB....I can't begin to describe the how it made me feel....so raw, heartfelt and pure genius, so I moved onto Pet Sounds....it brought back so many memories of my teen years...an excellent album from another genius....I also ordered BB party! Very tinny and muffled as another reviewer noticed. I have listened to Pet Sounds countless times and I never tire of the beautiful music. I'll be returning my 2nd copy to get my money back.Hope you like scuffs and divots on your LPs.

I did not read reviews in advance and wish I had. Some tracks are suitably impressive, albeit the centre speaker and sub woofer channels are hardly used.

I highly recommend "Pet Sounds".

Normally I would choose mono over stereo for 60s album but this mix was supervised by Brian Wilson. In the recent documentary, "Echo in The Canyon", Ringo Starr said "Pet Sounds" was the inspiration for the "Sergeant Pepper" album.
